lyrics

It was too hot to move
It was too hot to breathe
There was no one on the beach that day
On account of the heat

And a great white shark
Ate a man off Cape Cod
It sounds too gruesome but it’s true
And I’ve always been afraid of the ocean, my love
And there’s something of the ocean about you

He tears open
From the heart
From the root
From intuition
He tears open
From the gut
From the soul
From inner vision

The tiger year was ending
And the world came crashing through
The winds can shift your life can change
Just like that out of the blue

And a great white shark ate a man off cape cod
sounds too gruesome but it’s true
And I always been afraid of the ocean my love
And there’s something of the ocean about you

He tears open
From the heart
From the root
From intuition
He tears open
From the gut
From the soul
From inner vision

The ocean has a way
Of drawing me back in
Endlessly tempting water light against my skin
And a great white shark ate a man off cape cod
It sounds too gruesome but it’s true

And I always been afraid of the ocean my love
And there’s something of the ocean about you

He tears open
From the heart
From the root
From intuition
He tears open
From the gut
From the soul
From inner vision
